Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life by using her vivid and broad imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she was able to write or read. Her first guitar was given to her when she turned eight. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. Gold Band Records is a small, independent label. While in high school, she established herself in the community, but her ambition was bigger. The singer moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart on Monument Records. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his television show that was syndicated. Parton was hired in the year 1966. She was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. Then, in 1974, she left Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Love You (for Wagoner), reached the top of the. 1 spot after they broke up. First time, in 1974.
