Sheryl Underwood was born in the state of Arkansas and raised there. She was a television host of the talk show on daytime The Talk. She was born and raised within Little Rock. Sheryl was raised by a difficult family. Sheryl was raised by her sibling Frankie. Frankie had suffered from her own illness called Polio. When she was growing up, there were many arguments with her mom. Sheryl says that at the past, her mother would stab her father for getting too close to her. Sheryl when she graduated from college, joined the army. But her passion was comedy. She became the first female winner of the competition Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. She started her TV career as regularly performing at The HBO Comedy Show Def Comedy Jam in 1992. She was a TV host for the 2000 season of Oh Drama! Since 2011 she has been being a co-host for the talk show The Talk. She has also been in fictional roles on shows such as Bulworth Nikki as well as Beauty Shop.
