Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is one of football scholarship, family service and involvement in the community. In the first place Selmon was raised by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on a farm near Eufala within Oklahoma as the eldest of their nine children. Two soccer. He was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in nation by the Outland and Lombardi Awards. For three seasons as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma went 32- 1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. He received a third scholarship in 1975, and was named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained his diploma in education. Fourth service In college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began an entrepreneurial career. The first job he had was a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as among the top 10 youths from the United States. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds when he played college football. The year 1975 was the first time he led the squad. In 1993, he became the assistant director of the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
